September 24, 2012

New for the end of 2012 comes one of the most exciting horses is trotting into Golden Oak Stables with a new mold that is sure to capture the hearts of horse lovers everywhere!

Totilas is a star of the Dressage world that has taken the world by storm with his astonishing performances! Being the first horse to ever score above a 90 in Dressage is Totilas’ claim to fame along with winning three gold medals at the 2010 World Equestrian Games and two at the 2009 Dressage Championships! On top of that he’s won the FEI’s award for the best athlete. Totilas is also a breeding stallion creating the next generation of Dressage champions, all while still competing.

Breyer went to beloved German artist Brigitte Eberl to sculpt their portrait model of this ever deserving horse. Brigitte brought Totilas to life in Traditional scale with her attention to detail. Sculpted in an extended trot, Totilas is the epitome of an equestrian athlete and Brigitte has captured that perfectly! With his eyes intent and focused on the prize, Totilas is ready to compete!

Created in perfect likeness, Totilas wears his mane braided up and his tail groomed neatly. His stunning black coat is a sight to say the least and looks beautiful as he makes his way across the arena. His four white socks are perfectly recreated as are the star and snip that he wears on his face.

Bringing together both the realism of an astonishing athlete and the beauty of the horse, Brigitte has a way of capturing the spirit of a horse, and Totilas is no exception!

Sure to become a favorite among collectors, Totilas makes his way into Golden Oak Stables this December! With his dynamic pose and superstar qualities, Totilas is sure to cause a storm as he makes his way into the Breyer lineup!

Real Life Breyer Horses: Rolex 3 Day and Reining!

February 10, 2011

Hot off the presses, the 2011 Rolex Three Day event will incorporate one of the most exciting and popular events in the equestrian sport, Reining!

Reining was the star of the show at the World Equestrian Games 2010 and was one of the most exciting events! This sport brings the excitement of western working events and the elegance of classical training into one event that showcases the versatility and power of  the Western working horse! Riders perform a pattern the first night and they are judged on how well they perform that series of movements including the sliding stop and the spin. These are two of the more well known moves that make reining iconic. On the second night the audience will view Freestyle Reining that is a choreographed pattern by horse and rider that uses a bit of creativity to bring the elegance of reining to life!

The Kentucky Reining Cup will be held in the all new Alltech Arena. This is the same venue for the Breyerfest Live shows! This lovely arena played host to the Reining competition at the WEG and makes a wonderful venue for this lovely event! This event will be the only five star Reining event in the Western Hemisphere this year! This event is sure to become a favorite for many and paired with the Rolex 3 Day Event, this is shaping up to be an exciting weekend of equestrian competition!

Breyer has a stable full of Western stars that you can add to your stable from Golden Oak Stables. One of the most popular Breyer horses in recent years is Big Chex to Cash. This reining horse is a champion of the ring in both real life and in the Breyer horse ring. He’s a stunning palomino pinto with a bit of a metallic touch to his coat. He’s got high white socks and a small amount of spotting on his belly. His coat is full of dapples all over and he even carries his ranch brand! Chex has become a favorite among Breyer collectors for his high level of detail and stunning appearance!

Check out the all new Kentucky Reigning Cup along with the Rolex Three Day in Lexington Kentucky April 28th – 30th 2011, and if you can’t make it to Kentucky you can still bring a champion home with Golden Oak Stables!

Breyer Horse New Releases: WEG Fever Is Still Strong!

January 17, 2011

The World Equestrian Games may have ended back in December but the fever’s still going strong! These wonderful games were seen as a success by all and Breyer was honored with being the official model horse of the games! There were many special models available only to attendees of the games, but Breyer and Golden Oak Stables have released two very special horses for 2011!

Cedric and Headley Britannia were two of the special runs released by Breyer for the World Equestrian Games. Both are equestrian stars produced in a stunningly detailed portrait style, and now Breyer has brought these hard to find WEG Special Runs to you!

Cedric is ridden by Laura Kraut. This stunning horse is a lovely fleabit grey and Breyer has produced this horse on the dynamic showjumping mold. The eye for detail is amazing! Cedric is shown in mid-canter and headed over to his next jump. He comes with a base which allows him to stand on one leg and be in the correct position for taking off!

Headley Britannia is a small but powerful champion eventer that has made her mark in her sport! Owned by Lucinda Fredricks, she stands a petite 15.3 hands high and is still going strong even at age 13! In 2008 she produced her first foal and I’m sure a line of champion eventers aren’t far away! Breyer’s version of Headley Britannia is created on the Strapless mold, a portrait model created in the spirit of a champion hunter mare that is simply feminine and simply perfect for Britannia!

Golden Oak Stables brings you these two WEG exclusive models that you can add to your collection, so don’t delay! These releases are limited and once they’re gone, they’re gone! So let us not only bring you a special Breyer but also take a short tour with us of some of the WEG sights!

Real Life Breyer Horses: Three Day Eventing at the WEG!

October 7, 2010

This past weekend was a weekend full of tough competition at the FEI World Equestrian Games. Three day eventing is one of the most popular equestrian discipline and it brought out fans that packed the stands of each event and some of Breyer’s brightest stars were there in all their glory!

Photobucket

Thursday and Friday began the first leg of the event with Dressage. Dressage is a bit like dancing on horseback and shows the relationship of man and horse. 79 competitors would compete in the two days that would make up the Dressage portion and Germany, Belgium, Italy and The United States’ riders wuold rank at the top of the list.

Saturday was the second leg in three day eventing, Cross Country. This exhilarating sport shows the endurance and ability of a horse to make his way through a course made out of natural elements. Horses are expected to take this 3-4 mile course at quick speed and also negotiate their way over obstacles such as jumps and water elements along the way. This competition left France, Canada, Great Britain and the United States at the top of the charts for the day, but there is still one day left!

Sunday brought the finale of three day eventing, the Show Jumping portion. This final leg of the competition requires precision, speed, grace and endurance to ride and jump over very high obstacles with as few faults as possible and in the quickest amount of time. This event typically makes or breaks a rider as scores from all three days are averaged to choose the winner. This event is so popular not only because of the excitement but also because it requires so much from a horse and rider. These horses and riders are very talented and diversified to be able to compete in a rigorous event such as this.

At the end of the third day, Great Britain would take home the gold, Canada took home the silver and New Zealand took home the bronze! Just six points off of the podium, The United States came in a close fourth!

One of the most recognizable riders on the American team is Karen O’Connor, who is as close to eventing royalty as they come and her mounts have been created  by Breyer time and time again. Truly a world class rider, Karen O’Connor and her mount Mandiba helped to bring the USA as close as possible to that podium!

You can find your own stable of eventing horses at Golden Oak Stables, and you can check out all of the WEG models as well! Don’t delay, these are only around for a short time!
