Breyer Horse New Releases: Patriot

March 31, 2016

The word Patriot brings about a lot of different meanings for people, but one thing that seems universal is the pride that comes with that word. In honor of the 240th anniversary of Independence Day, a new decorator celebrates this momentous day with pride and honor!

The American Saddlebred is a breed with a long history of serving in the U.S. Military, so it is no surprise that the American Saddlebred mold would make the perfect horse to celebrate such a patriotic occasion. This beautiful model stands tall and proud with his long mane and tail flowing in the wind.

Patriot has been created in a unique clear plastic, something that has only been done for a handful of Breyers in the past. He is then adorned with the colors of the American flag, red, white and blue. His lovely deep blue body is accented with red points on his face and legs and his long flowing tail is mixed between white and blue. Finally, he is lightly dappled with white stars, giving him the perfect patriotic finale.

Don’t miss this special horse, not only is he unlike any that have come before him, but he is also very limited. So head on over to Golden Oak Stables before you miss your chance to add Patriot to your collection!

Breyer Holiday Horse: Bats in the Belfry!

October 4, 2010

This year Breyer is surprising many with their release of a Halloween horse! It has been several years since Breyer has released a Halloween horse and due to popular demand, they have brought back the series with a fitting tribute to this spooky holiday!

Bats in the Belfry is a spooky and scary Mustang  stallion full of spite and fury! Available through Golden Oak Stables, Bats in the Belfry is done on the excitingly popular Nokota mold sculpted by Kathleen Moody. This fiesty stallion has seen a few colors in the lineup, but nothing like this! He is painted in the style of a previous Halloween horse, Nosferatu, with a firey sunset in the background, a flurry of black bats can be found dancing over his coat. Breyer has created this model as a limited edition and with only 2500 created, he’s quite limited!

These types of paint jobs are commonly called “Decorators”. This term was coined in the 1960’s when Breyer produced some of the first Decorators:, the infamous Florentine, Gold Charm, Wedgewood and Copenhagen models. These models were done in solid and speckled blue and gold and are some of the most difficult to find Breyers in existence. They were not hugely popular and were sold as home decor pieces, hence the name Decorators. Breyer has since produced a myriad of decorators. Woodgrains are another popular decorator, these are painted in a style that makes the model appear as if it was carved from wood and they are often mistaken as such! Breyer has also produced everything from silver dappled horses to models with scenes painted on them. In recent years Breyer has even produced some hard to find Special Run models produced in colored clear plastic!

Bats in the Belfry is not only a fantastic Halloween addition to your collection, but its also a fun way to get started or to add to your decorator collection. This fiesty and fanciful model is truly one to be remembered and will do nothing but get harder to find! With only 2500 produced, get your pre-order in now, he just might have flown into the night by the next time you look!
