Breyer Horse Holiday: Beautiful Breeds Ornament

November 12, 2015

Each year Breyer celebrates a special breed with a specially sculpted ornament for collectors to deck their halls with! This year, a breed that’s been in the international spotlight all year is making it’s ways into collector’s homes, and is ready to make its way into yours!

The Thoroughbred is a unique breed that has captured the hearts of so many with it’s winning spirit and it’s tenacity. The Thoroughbred is a relatively new breed, being only a few hundred years old. Bred in England, the breed draws it’s heritage from the Arabians of the Middle East and quickly  became the fast race horses we know today.

This year, Thoroughbreds have come back into the public spotlight with the Triple Crown and Grand Slam of Horse Racing win from American Pharoah. Now, the world is watching the Thoroughbred again with admiration and astonishment over this amazing horse with all of it’s amazing traits and accomplishments.

The Beautiful Breeds Ornament is a fitting sculpture created by Sommer Prosser showcasing this amazing breed. This beautiful bay horse comes to Golden Oak Stables just in time for the holidays! Two socks and star give her coat a beautiful accentuation and a red ribbon makes her red highlights shine!

Have you begun decking the halls? Make room for a little Thoroughbred in your life!

Breyer Horse Classics: Black Caviar and Her First Foal

November 9, 2015

In America we have racing super stars like American Pharoah and Zenyatta. In Australia, where racing is just as popular and stars of their own have started to take the world stage. One of these race horses is Black Caviar, a mare that has made a name of herself for an amazing record that will surprise and excite any racing fan.

This stunning Australian bred mare was foaled in August of 2006. Unlike the northern hemisphere where all Thoroughbreds are given the birth date of January 1st, in the southern hemisphere they are all given a birth date of August 1st. Unusually large in her field, this 16.2 hand tall mare has been taking Australia by storm for the past three racing seasons. This dark bay mare finished off her career with a perfect 25 and 0 record, an unbelievable feat to say the least.

She retired in 2013 to begin her career as a broodmare where she has produced two foals, a filly and a colt. Golden Oak Stables brings you a Classic scale portrait of this beautiful mare and one of her foals! Your Classics collection will jump for joy with the addition of this deep bay championship mare and her bay foal. Black Caviar and her Foal are painted to perfection and showcase the beauty of this amazing horse.

There aren’t many mares like Black Caviar and there aren’t many Breyers like her either! Add this special mare and foal to your collection before it’s too late!

Real Life Breyer Horses: American Pharoah’s Grand Slam

November 2, 2015

Fans from around the world tuned in and stood in anticipation as the champion, American Pharoah raced in his last race for a chance to make racing history! This amazing race horse has already captured the world’s attention, but he had the task of capturing the Grand Slam of Horse Racing.

After a 37 year dry spell, American Pharoah stunned the nation by winning the Triple Crown of horse racing with wins in the Kentucky Derby, Preakness and Belmont Stakes. These three races are often thought of as three of the most difficult races, or at least the three most difficult tests for a three year old race horse. American Pharoah won each of them in grand style and proved his talent with each race.

Racing fans have been anxiously awaiting the finale to his incredible career, the Breeders Cup Classic. This race caps off the end of the year and is arguably the most challenging race of the year. Bringing together the best horses of all ages, this race is the final race of the Breeders Cup and makes champions each year.

In a field that all had impressive wins, this would easily be American Pharoah’s most challenging race. With good track conditions and a huge crowd of fans, American Pharoah ran strong and came over the finish line with an impressive lead ahead of the pack. With that performance, American Pharoah has cemented himself into the history books as one of the most impressive race horses in history!

You can bring home your own American Pharoah from Golden Oak Stables in Traditional or Stablemate scale, or an ornament to deck your tree with! Whichever you choose, one or all, every collector needs a little bit of this piece of horse racing history in their collection!
