Breyer Horse Collecting: What Have You Learned?

We all start off collecting Breyers for different reasons and at different times in our lives. Some people start as young children, with Breyers that help them play through their favorite horse adventures. Some start as adults and bring their love of horses into their homes. No matter how your collecting journey started, there are bound to be things you’ve learned along the way.

When we first start out collecting, we’re all finding out way in the collecting world and figuring out just what we’re looking for in our collections. With so many different Breyer horses in the world, it’s hard to know where to start. Many of our first horses often become sentimental, and some even become our first customizing projects if you’re an artistic type. Whatever your first horses were, chances are, they hold a special place in your heart. From there collections begin to grow and make themselves into the collection that you have today. What have you learned through the process of creating your collection?

There’s also experiences that collectors can learn from, like going to your first model horse show, or attending Breyerfest for the first time. These experiences are one in their own and are amazing experiences for any collector. Live showing and events like Breyerfest are a chance for collectors to not only meet other collectors but to also learn new things, see new models and compete with their models. With so much to do, it’s easy to see why there’s a lot to learn from these experiences.

There’s knowledge to be learned through every experience and knowledge to be learned from other collectors. Golden Oak Stables wants to know what your best tip is for collectors!
